We understand that you have questions about the realization of our GES12 Symposium this summer. We are still planning to go ahead and we hope that we can all meet in Zurich this August. We are closely following the Corona situation and in case the measures taken by the Swiss Federal Council and ETH will be prolonged, we may need to postpone the event. However, for now we are hopeful that the GES12 Symposium can take place as planned. If we have any news we will inform you on this site.
Because we realize that you may have had many other things on your mind in the past weeks, we have extended the deadline for the abstract submission until April 20.
The organising committee wishes you and your loved ones all the best in these challenging times.

GES12 brings together world-leading scientists in all fields of surface geochemistry and environmental geochemistry. The symposium has a strong focus on interactions of the Earth’s spheres: the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere, and how these interactions respond to changing environmental and climate conditions. The overarching theme of GES12 is Earth system interactions on a changing planet.

The symposium aims to strengthen connections between research disciplines and to establish new networks. It features invited plenary talks covering a wide range of cutting-edge research themes. The extensive poster and networking sessions give ample opportunities to discuss newest research highlights and innovations and to visit the exhibitions.

For students and early career scientists, GES12 is an excellent opportunity to connect with global scientific leaders and to learn more about the activities and developments of our non-academic partners.

The 12th GES edition welcomes you in the beautiful town of Zurich at the central campus of ETH Zurich – the leading university in continental Europe according to the QS World University Ranking 2022.
